Neurologist at OU Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. Coordinator of the Study Group “Digital Technologies, web and social media” of the Italian Society of Neurology.
He created, in 2012, SMsocialnetwork, the first social network entirely dedicated to people with Multiple Sclerosis. His main scientific interests are social determinants of neurological diseases (especially Multiple Sclerosis).
He is the author of 43 Publications (from 2005 to present) on topics related to high technology applied to Health (Digital Health). PhD in Neuroscience. Qualified as Associate Professor as of September 2019, he won the National Observatory on Women’s Health Award for SMsocialnetwork (innovative project of excellence, example of telemedicine).
Dr. Lavorgna is also the creator and sole administrator of the start up “Neuro Digit” having the following activities:

  • Creating new tools dedicated to research and development activities and service production
  • Designing and collaborating with local enterprises and institutions for solving problems in the medical field
  • Promoting research activities and its dissemination through the web
  • Promoting participation in national and international research projects with collaborative and developmental intentions, as well as bridging public research and enterprises operating in the field.

NeuroDigit later became a spin-off of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”.
